Blue parking is located close to U-M buildings. Access to Blue parking in structures is controlled by gates. Access is granted by Mcard when a valid permit registered to the user’s parking account.

The equipment in the drive lanes is being upgraded to support the new LPR technology. These upgrades are expected to take place in Fall of 2025 through Fall 2026. Once the upgrades have been completed, the license plate registered to the user’s parking account will activate the parking gates.

The Blue permit is also valid in Yellow and Orange lots.

Exception: The Blue permit is not valid and will not be honored at the Coliseum lot (W32), W39, W40, W41 or in any lots located south of Hill Street on home football game Saturdays, nor will they be honored at any lots located south of E. Hoover Avenue during home basketball games.

There are several alternatives to parking on the Medical Campus. If those don’t work for you, there are special parking programs for Medical Center staff on the Medical Campus which allow parking at P3 (Taubman South Deck) and P5 (CVC) during restricted hours. Monthly permits may also be eligible for the late afternoon/evening access upon request.

Late Afternoon/Evening Access Starting at 4:30 PM (P3) or 5:15 PM (P5)

Bus Service

There typically is no U-M bus service directly from Blue parking lots or structures, but many of the Blue parking areas are within walking distance of U-M bus stops in the campus core areas. Please refer to the University bus schedules for specific route information.
