where can i park for free on labor day med campus

On Labor Day, U-M parking regulations are generally not enforced, so Medical Campus permit lots and structures are typically open to the public without a permit or fee. Check entrance signs and gate status because special restrictions, reserved spaces, closures, and patient-only areas may still apply.

Patient/visitor structures such as P1–P5 may continue charging their posted fees, so do not assume those are free. Accessible spaces require a state-issued disability placard or license plate. Vehicles may not remain in any U-M parking area for 48 consecutive hours.

No. Students may register only one license plate to their virtual parking permit account. You can update the registered vehicle in the parking portal if you need to drive a different car: https://umich.aimsparking.com/

SC36 – Keech & Main Street

Location: Keech Street at Main Street
Permit requirement: Orange tier
Enforcement: Monday–Friday, 6 a.m.–5 p.m.
After hours/weekends: No permit required outside the posted enforcement hours, but event restrictions and posted signs still apply.
EV charging: 16 Level 2 ChargePoint spaces; a valid Orange-or-higher permit and charging fees are required during enforcement hours.

Check posted signs, especially during home football events, when special restrictions may apply.

Contractors may park only in designated contractor lots or spaces, as indicated by campus maps and posted signs. Examples include:

SC17 — Wolverine Tower, 3003 State Street
NC110 — Green Road Parking, North Campus

A contractor permit is required during posted enforcement hours. To establish an account or purchase a permit, email [email protected]. If you mean a different specific location, please provide the lot or structure name.
