Responsibility to secure parking options from loss or theft, both when in use and away from campus, rests solely with the department that purchases the permit. The department should maintain strong internal controls to track permit use and issuance.

Defective Permits

Defective or damaged permits will be replaced for free, provided you return them to the Parking Customer Services (PCS) office.

Lost or Stolen Permits

Department permits or coupons that are lost or stolen must be reported to the PCS office. The department contact person must complete a Parking Option Affidavit. Misrepresentation of the information provided on this legal document by the customer may result in the department’s termination in the parking program, disciplinary action or criminal prosecution, if appropriate.

There are no “free” replacements of department parking options. Departments that would like a replacement will need to purchase a new permit at the prevailing rate. If a department permit previously reported lost or stolen is returned within 30 days, a refund for the lost/stolen permit will be processed. 

If lost or stolen, Business Vehicle Permits will be deprogrammed, making them unusable to access parking areas. 


Refunds, if due, are limited to amounts prepaid excluding the month the option is returned. Refunds will not be posted retroactively.

Parking options may be returned to PCS any time by one of the following method, either in person or after hours via a drop box.
