Transit Alert – State Street Closures

​Expected to begin on Thursday, June 1, South State Street will be closed to vehicular traffic in both directions between Granger and Dewey Avenues and between Hill Street and South University Avenue for utility work.

Commuter North and Commuter South buses will be on detour.


Commuter North

DETOUR 1 – State Street Closure

June 1 – TBD; All Day

(Outbound/towards Glazier Way)

After servicing the IM Building bus stop, buses will:

  • Turn left on State

  • Turn left on Packard

  • Turn right on Division

  • Service a temporary stop on Division at Jefferson

  • Turn right on Huron

  • Turn right on Fletcher

  • Service the Rackham bus stop

  • Turn left on North University

  • Resume regular route

There will be no service to the Law Quad, Michigan Union, and School of Kinesiology bus stops during this detour.


Commuter South

DETOUR 1 – State Street Closures

June 1 – TBD; All Day

(Inbound/towards SC-7)

After servicing the CCTC, buses will:

  • Continue on Church

  • Service the bus stop at East Quad

  • Turn right on Hill

  • Service the temporary bus stop on Hill at Tappan

  • Service the temporary bus stop on Hill between State and Packard

  • Turn left on Division

  • Turn right on Hoover

  • Service the temporary stop on Hoover across from Revelli Hall

  • Resume regular route

There will be no service to the Willard, Shapiro, Michigan Union, South Quad, and IM Building bus stops during this detour.
