Transit Alert – Washtenaw Avenue Lane Closures

Beginning on Monday morning, October 7, and expected to last through Monday, November 18, both southbound lanes on Washtenaw Avenue between Zina Pitcher Place and Geddes Avenue will be closed.  North and southbound traffic will be maintained with one lane in each direction in the Washtenaw Avenue northbound lanes between Zina Pitcher Place and Geddes Avenue.




This will result in detours to the Bursley-Baits, Commuter North, Commuter South, Crisler Express, Diag-to-Diag Express, Med Express, and Northwood Express routes. Traffic may cause delays on all routes – Please allow extra time for your commute.

BURSLEY-BAITS
Buses will operate the evening pattern (up Observatory) for the duration of the construction project.

COMMUTER NORTH

COMMUTER NORTH BUSES WILL NOT SERVICE BSRB or COUZENS DURING THIS DETOUR. The closest stop is at the CVC roundabout bus shelter on the Hospital side of the street.

After servicing the CCTC buses will:

  • Head east on Geddes

  • Turn left on Observatory

  • Serve a temporary stop at the current bus shelter at the CVC

  • Travel around the roundabout heading south on Observatory

  • Turn left on East Medical Center

  • Resume regular route at Markley


COMMUTER SOUTH

After servicing the CVC buses will:

  • Proceed down Ann past Zina Pitcher

  • Serve a temporary stop on Ann West of Zina Pitcher

  • Turn left on Glen

  • Turn right on Huron

  • Resume regular route at Rackham

After servicing the CCTC buses will:

  • Turn right on Washtenaw

  • Turn right on Hill

  • Turn right on East University. There will be no stop on Willard.

  • Resume regular route on East University


CRISLER EXPRESS

From 10/07 – 11/18 the BSRB stop will be moved to a temporary stop on Ann West of Zina Pitcher.

The closure of Hill street from Adams to East of 5th is also still in affect.

After serving the temporary stop on Ann, buses will:

  • Turn left on Glen

  • Turn right on Huron

  • Turn left on 5th

  • Turn left on Packard

  • Turn right on State

  • Turn right on Hoover

  • Left on Greene

  • Resume regular route at ICLE

DIAG-TO-DIAG

After leaving Trotter House buses will:

  • Turn right on Washtenaw

  • Turn right on Observatory

  • Turn left on Geddes

  • Resume regular route at the Museum


MED EXPRESS

MED EXPRESS BUSES WILL NOT SERVICE BSRB or COUZENS DURING THIS DETOUR. The closest stop is at the CVC roundabout bus shelter on the Hospital side of the street.

Med Express buses will follow regular route to the CVC and then

  • Proceed around the roundabout

  • Turn left on East Medical Center

  • Resume regular route at Markley


NORTHWOOD EXPRESS

After leaving Trotter House buses will:

  • Turn right on Washtenaw

  • Turn right on Observatory

  • Turn left on Geddes

  • Resume regular route at the Museum
