Logistics, Transportation & Parking (LTP) provides logistics, transportation and parking services for employees, students, departments and visitors at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus. The department oversees Waste Management, Moving and Trucking and Material Services. LTP also operates and maintains over 27,000 parking spaces, provides campus bus service 360 days a year with roughly 55 buses serving 12 routes, maintains a fleet of approximately 1,000 vehicles of various types and uses, and offers vanpool and other transportation alternatives to our campus community.

Independence Day (July 4) Notice

Please be advised that enforcement in campus parking lots and structures will be suspended on Thursday, July 4 with the exception of P1, P3, P4, P5 and Arbor Heights (M95). Yellow permit parkers will have what is usually considered weekend access to the P3, P4 and P5 structures. On Friday, July 5, yellow permit parkers must exit P4 and P5 by 8 a.m. and exit P3 by 9 a.m.

The Division St. and UH South offices for Parking Customer Services will be closed on Thursday, July 4.


University Transit Services will not operate on Thursday, July 4.

EAA Employee Parking shuttle service (both to Main Medical Campus and Wall Street) will not operate on Thursday, July 4. Blue Car's late night return service to East Ann Arbor (EC1) gravel lot and northeast area lots will be provided from Taubman until 5 a.m., Thursday July 4.

EAA shuttle service to Main Medical Campus will resume at 4:20 a.m. on Friday, July 5 and Wall Street service will resume at its regular hours on Friday, July . . .

Wall Street West Parking Structure Construction

Please be advised that construction of the new Wall Street West parking structure is set to begin. The construction - expected to start in early June - will likely last until late Fall 2020.

The new deck will include more than 1,000 parking spaces for employees and will be built over the existing surface parking lots at M76, M91 and M92. These surface lots will have to be closed to parkers beginning the weekend of June 7.

Parking and transportation information

Beginning June 10, Michigan Medicine will introduce new direct shuttle service between the East Ann Arbor lot (EC1) and Wall Street to benefit those who work at locations along or near Wall Street.

  • This shuttle service is a separate van and route and is in addition to the current shuttle service that services the main medical campus. The existing schedule and number of vans is not changing.

Live Tracking Contract Awarded to Clever Devices Ltd.

In April 2019, Logistics, Transportation & Parking (LTP) awarded a contract to Clever Devices Ltd. to replace its bus live tracking system.

The current system will remain fully functional until the transition is made to Clever Devices in Fall 2019 - Winter 2020. Additional information will be shared with the university community closer to the roll-out of the new system.

LTP looks forward to the introduction of the Clever Device system as we continuously strive to enhance our customer service, safety and efficiency of operations.

Several improvements to passenger experience are expected with the new system, including:

  • Ability to sign up for service alerts by route and stop
  • Ability to sign up for prediction alerts for specific stops and times of day
  • More accurate prediction algorithm which utilizes both schedule data and historical data
  • Desktop and mobile applications built on the Google Maps platform

Some of the benefits anticipated for LTP's internal operations include:

  • Better integration with existing run-cutting software
  • More reporting functionality and in-depth reporting

2020 Permit Rate Schedules

See the below rate schedules for information on permit costs for the upcoming 2019-2020 permit year. The cost of each permit prorates down on the first and fifteenth of each month. Where applicable, "UC" stands for University Contribution. This is paid on top of the costs listed to the employee.

2020 Parking Permits are NOW available online! To order, visit 2020 permits are valid effective July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. Please avoid the line and order online!

For customers that would like to purchase a permit at a Parking Customer Services office, please know that 2020 permits will go on sale in Parking Customer Services office on Monday, June 17. This is also the first date Student Storage Permits are available. We strongly encourage all students interested in a Student Storage Permit to order online on Monday, June 17 as permits are limited (first-come, first-serve).
